Adhesive Description:

NECAL 8199-45 is a foam supported pressure sensitive adhesive that exhibits very high performance.

Features:
NECAL
8199-45 is primarily intended for exterior use where extreme high performance is needed.  An example is exterior automotive.  8199-45 has superior impact and vibration resistance.

Physical Properties:
Composition: Acrylic based adhesive
Release liner: Available with P or W liner
Thickness: Total construction 48 mils total + or – 10%
Scrim: Black polyurethane foam
Adhesion: 250-300 oz./in.
Tensile: 100 p.s.i.
Shear adhesion: 7 days +
Application temperature: 50°F Minimum
Service temperature range: -40°F minimum to 400°F maximum short term (minutes, hours) 300°F. Max. long term (days, weeks)

Bonding Instructions:
Remove the release liner and apply mask to clean, dry substrate.  Use firm pressure to obtain maximum contact.  Use of air, hydraulic or mechanical bonding press is recommended with pressure of 40-60 p.s.i. with dwell time of 2-5 seconds.

Storage:
The shelf life of this material is al least two years when stored in a cool, dry place.

NECAL 8197-X Pressure Sensitive Adhesive      Print Friendly Version

Adhesive Description:

NECAL 8197-X is a supported pressure sensitive adhesive that is used exclusively in “soft touch” applications.

Features:
NECAL
8197-X shows no adhesive ooze even after extensive aging.  Adhesion is good to most substrates including aluminum, steel, glass and many plastics including circuit board plastics.  Good initial bond will improve within a few hours or day to a superior bond.

Physical Properties:
Composition: Acrylic based adhesive
Release liner: Available with P or W liner
Thickness: Total construction 1.5 mils on each side
Scrim: X (indicates total thickness with polyester film.  Example: 8197-7 is a 4 mil polyester with 1.5 mils adhesive each side.)
Adhesion (PSTC-1 std.): Initial: 100-120 oz./in. Aged: 170-180 oz./in.
Tensile (Polyester to SS, 1 sq.in.): 130 p.s.i.
Shear adhesion (Polyester to SS, 1000 grams/sq.in.): 7 days +
Application temperature: 60°F Minimum
Service temperature range: 0°F minimum to 225°F maximum

Bonding Instructions:
Remove the release liner and apply mask to clean, dry substrate.  Use firm pressure to obtain maximum contact.  Use of air, hydraulic or mechanical bonding press is recommended with pressure of 40-60 p.s.i. with dwell time of 2-5 seconds.

Features:
NECAL
8195 will adhere to many substrates.  8195 is highly recommended for rough textured surfaces that have low contact areas.  It can be used where vibration deadening is required.

Composition: Acrylic based adhesive
Release liner: Available with P or W liner
Thickness: Total construction 32 mil + or – 10%
Scrim: Polyurethane open-celled foam
Adhesion (PSTC-1 std.): 95 - 120 oz./in.
Tensile (Polyester to SS, 1 sq.in.): 90 p.s.i.
Shear adhesion (Polyester to SS, 1000 grams/sq.in.): 7 days +
Application temperature: 50°F Minimum
Service temperature range: -40°F minimum to 225°F maximum

Adhesive Description:

NECAL 7114 is a unique unsupported heat activated adhesive.

Features:
NECAL
7114  displays high bond strengths to many substrates including vinyl, metal, a variety of plastics and various cloths and leathers.  7114 has excellent environmental resistance.

Physical Properties:
Adhesion: Cloth & vinyl destroying bond
Thickness: Total construction 1.0 mils
Service temperature range: -40°F minimum to 200°F maximum

Bonding Instructions:
Bonding instructions: 4-10 seconds at 325-375°F depending on materials bonded.  Minimum glue line temperature of 300°F and adequate pressure to initiate bonding required.

NECAL 4800 is an unsupported film of pressure sensitive adhesive which displays excellent bond and initial tack.

Features:
NECAL
4800 adheres to most substrates, including aluminum, brass, steel, glass, enamels and plastics such as polystyrene, ABS and acrylic.  Because of its thickness, 4800 is recommended for use on rough surfaces.

Physical Properties:
Composition: Acrylic based adhesive
Release liner: Available with P, P1, W or W1 liner
Thickness: Total construction 1.0 – 4.0 mils dependent upon application
Scrim: 2 mil chrome, 2 mil brush chrome, 1 mil mylar, 2 mil mylar, and 4 mil mylar
Adhesion: 325 - 350 oz./in. at 4.0 mils
Tensile: 180 p.s.i.
Shear adhesion: 7 days +
Application temperature: 50°F Minimum
