NECAL
8192 is primarily intended for applications with extremely rough substrates such as cast iron, cement, etc.  8192 has excellent impact and vibration resistance.  8192 has excellent adhesion to polyethylene and polypropylene as well as other substrates.

Physical Properties:
Composition: Rubber based adhesive
Release liner: Available with P or W liner
Thickness: Total construction 32 mil + or – 10%
Scrim: White Polyethylene closed-cell foam
Adhesion (PSTC-1 std.): 160-170 oz./in., 80-100 to polyethylene and polypropylene
Tensile (Polyester to SS, 1 sq.in.): 65 p.s.i. foam failure
Shear adhesion (Polyester to SS, 1000 grams/sq.in.): 7 days +
Application temperature: 50°F Minimum
Service temperature range: -40°F minimum to 170°F maximum

Bonding Instructions:
Remove the release liner and apply mask to clean, dry substrate.  Use firm pressure to obtain maximum contact.  Use of air, hydraulic or mechanical bonding press is recommended with pressure of 40-60 p.s.i. with dwell time of 2-5 seconds.

Storage:
The shelf life of this material is two years when stored in a cool, dry place.

NECAL 5130 Heat Activated Adhesive      Print Friendly Version

Adhesive Description:

NECAL 5130 is a unique thermoplastic adhesive with excellent bonding characteristics. It is UL recognized to Standard UL 969 (PGGU2 Component - Marking and Labeling Systems Materials).

Features:
NECAL
5130 is designed to be resistant to blocking, so it needs no release liner.  5130 has the unique capability of bonding to a wide variety of substrates, including; glass, wood, aluminum, steel, brass, various cloths and leathers, and most plastics (ABS, styrene, nylon, celcon, polyethylene, and polypropylene).  In addition, 5130 has excellent resistance to water, oil, gas, and most detergents and has excellent low temperature properties.

Physical Properties:
Adhesion: Aluminum to ABS 9-14 lbs.
Thickness: Total construction 2.5 mils
Tensile (Polyester to SS, 1 sq.in.): 300 p.s.i.
Service temperature range: -60°F minimum to 190°F maximum

Bonding Instructions:
Use pressure, 40-60 p.s.i., for 1.5 – 10 seconds dependent upon substrate.  It is essential that the glue line be between 300° - 350°F for bond to develop.  Keep in mind the heat sink effect of the substrate. It may be necessary to preheat the substrate or increase temperature and/or dwell time.

Storage:
The shelf life of this material is two years when stored in a cool, dry place.

Notice:
The information shown here represents typical values that may vary with each application.  The values are not intended to be a performance guarantee.  Users should determine, prior to use, the suitability of this material for their application.
